Las Pozas, a surrealist garden

Las Pozas is near the village of Xilitla, San Luis Potosí, a seven-hour drive north of Mexico City. Edward William Frank James was a British poet known for his patronage of the surrealist art movement. He "wanted a Garden of Eden set up . . . and I saw that Mexico was far more romantic”.

Jean Paul Gaultier journeyed far from his home in Paris to visit Mexico a while back. He stated he didn't fully appreciate the richness of Mexican culture while he was there because it wasn't what he was looking for at the time. It didn't all sink in until he started working on his Spring Summer 2010 Haute Couture Collection. He said he can't wait to go back! Something must have happened when he visited the Teotihuacan pyramids, 'cause this collection screams Quetzalcoatl!
