Heads Up!

I'll be listing these Black Forest Relics (Antique-circa 1950's) in my Etsy shop tomorrow morning! The last batch (see below) sold the same day, so don't wait if you want one! xo Lavona

Just as a point of reference. Antique is a word reserved for things that are over 70 years old. Something from the 1950s then would still be considered vintage.
That being said, I thuroughly adore these and wish that there wasn't such a stigma about wearing animal parts 'round your neck. Otherwise I'd have bought them all.

Well there is obviously some room for argument there. According to Webster's Dictionary, it says at least 100 years old. And Wikipedia says:

"The definition of antique varies from source to source, product to product and year to year. But, some time-tested definitions of antique deserve consideration:

An item which is at least 50 to 100 years old and is collected or desirable due to rarity, condition, utility, or some other unique feature. Motor vehicles, tools and other items subject to vigorous use in contrast, may be considered antiques in the U.S. if older than 25 years, and some electronic gadgets of more recent vintage may be considered antiques"

In any case the point that I was trying to make is that they are old!

My general rule of thumb when tagging items is pre 1950-Antique, Post 1950-Vintage.

Oh, how happy I am to have discovered this blog! (Thanks to Lisa Evans for the link!) Being new to your collection I haven't had time to pore over all the entries, but have you posted yet about Jessica Joslin? She is one of my favorite creators of curiosities.
